I bought this to expand the USB ports on my laptop as I have a lot of USB devices that I use and some of them draw a lot of power when they are shared. I attached it to my desk with double-sided tape as I really only need the extra ports when I'm at home. Pros: - The hub looks very solid and well made, it's real metal and doesn't seem to break if it survives a bad fall - Buttons to turn on/off the various ports make plugging in and unplugging devices a lot easier and when I need to mute the mic so no one can hear me (my mic doesn't have a mute button) it works fine. - The indicator shows which devices are using the PC data connection and it's useful see if anything is causing the problem (more on that in the cons). This is actually the only downside I've encountered so far, the hub is powered and the adapter ensures my phone charges when plugged in and acts like an internet connection instead of draining itself when it is connected to my old device with no power hub. but when I use 7 ports with all my devices: - Audio Technica AT2020 USB microphone - GK68XS RGB mechanical keyboard - Coolermaster CK552 RGB mechanical keyboard - Steelseries Sensei Ten mouse - 2 external hard drives (1 TB HDD and SSD 500 GB drive) - and my oneplus 7t is used as an internet connection device, when they are all connected to external drives they randomly disconnect and reconnect. So when I know I'm going to use my phone as internet for gaming, I turn off the discs with the buttons and hold them until I'm done playing and turn off my phone. That issue aside, all I can say is that the adapter cable is pretty short and it's a really good product.
