Outperforms its class

I've had the OWC USB-C Travel Dock for a few weeks now. I wanted to test it before posting my review; and so far I have been very satisfied - especially when compared to similar product offerings I have purchased which appear cheap and lacking in functionality. I used it mainly as an audio engineer to transfer data to various media, mainly via USB 3 ports. I used an SD card reader to transfer .wav files from a field recorder. I used the HMDI pin for the secondary display and it worked as expected. I've also used a bus-powered USB audio interface with this multiport dock. USB-C with pass-through power available would leave this dock conveniently at home or in the office, allowing a single connection to a laptop or tablet to allow users to leave the rest of their connected setup untouched, regardless of size and weight allow easy transport complete with drive and adapter. Overall it seems to be a solid device and I would recommend it. A few things to note: 1.) Not enough power was being delivered when attempting to transfer data from one bus-powered hard drive to another via USB-C. bus one Also, backhauling the power supply for my 15-inch MacBook Pro provided enough power for the drives, but not for the computer itself (which was running on battery power). I transferred 2.5TB of data, so I ended up using another USB-C to USB-3 adapter in combination with a travel dock to connect the power bank directly to the USB-C port. 2.) It may have been due to media or MBP bus speed, but it seemed that some combinations of transfers seemed slower than others, particularly from SDD to flash drive. The fastest transfers were always from the internal SSD to any media was attached .3.) I read a few other reviews and agree that a detachable cable would be a plus, but it's not essential in my opinion.
