Yes, it's a thickly padded chair, but it's rock hard when you sit on it. Also, due to the design of the chair, you are sitting too far forward and your lower back is too low on your back. But then the back of the chair is reclined so that the bottom of the back goes low over your back and the rest of the back doesn't touch your back. It is not good to try to lean back as this is a very unnatural way of sitting. I've seen this in reviews that don't make sense, but it's true. An ordinary folding chair was an ordinary padded seat without a thick cushion, much more comfortable. In fact, I think that a thick cushion that you don't sink into at all is what causes the back of the chair not to touch the right spot and also causes the seat base to move too far away from the back of the chair. It's too expensive to send back so I'll keep it to myself, but it's a very poorly designed chair. In fact, an all-metal chair would be even better.
