To explain in a nutshell how it's done: 1) To begin, you punch in the serial number and determine whether there is no purchase date at all or whether there is already a purchase date recorded. I personally experienced the first scenario, but I've noticed in other people's reviews that the second one is more common. The reason for this is that Apple considers the date of shipment of goods from their warehouse to be the date of purchase. 2) Place an order for a technical assistance call on the Apple website. 3) They call you, explain the situation, ask you to dictation the serial number of the ears, and ask you to throw off the link to download the check for them (the market provides it in PDF). After that, they ask you to upload the check. 4) After a few days, the date of purchase will be updated to the proper one, and the warranty will function as planned. PROFIT! In the end, I'm delighted that I went with the option that didn't require certification because it was almost twice as cheap. The savings are worth it, at least for me, to do all of these things that come with a warranty, which take a maximum of fifteen minutes.
