As others have pointed out, anyone with the right screwdriver can remove this lock, so it can deter an accidental thief, determined not to stop. The type of screwdriver required is not uncommon. I already had one and am not very tech savvy. This device would have been more effective if the manufacturer used a proprietary screw head or fastener that could only be removed with their tool or wrench. It's quick and easy to install - just two screws. - but maybe that's another problem. It's also easy to open. A more time-consuming installation, although usually not a good idea, it will be more difficult for a thief to remove unnoticed. Also, it's a bit pricey for what it is. Two small parts that stick together, two tiny screws and a mini screwdriver. There aren't many other options, and the real fault is Apple. This particular lock is relatively streamlined and unobtrusive, so it's probably worth buying for the containment it offers.
