Two blocks last about 5 months in total

Bought two blocks, one was May 5th 2018 and the other May 8th 2018. At the end of August the first one burned down. We thought maybe we were just unlucky and got a lemon. We switched to the second and it only lasted about 10 days. Last night we smelled the familiar smell of a burned adapter. Both blocks faced the same problem. Disclaimer, we used the devices for cooking every day, but our last $9.99 from Walmart lasted at least a year before we switched to this highly rated device. Very disappointed.
