Review on Tyger Auto TG RK4B102B Receiver Protector by Matthew Allen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fantastic boot priced at

We bought this frame because we liked the looks and the reviews and weren't inclined to shell out $250-300 for a Yakima or Thule alternative. A month has passed and we are very happy with our decision. The luggage rack is rock solid, the buckles keep the bikes securely in place, the hitch mount (even for a 2" hitch) is solid metal, and the availability of extras like a hitch lock, padlock, and straps is an added plus . . We recently brought two bikes from Virginia to Ohio and they didn't budge an inch. I was a bit concerned by a reviewer's comment that there was no quick release to lower the strut so you could quickly open the sunroof, but I really disagree with that assessment. It's true that you have to unscrew it, but it takes 30 seconds and there's a big plastic handle for that (I had a vision of having to use a wrench or something). This has the advantage that these screws ensure that the rack does not wobble. Overall great!

Pros
  • Easy car access with tilt function and folding handles for carrying when not in use. Soft supports and a protective pad are used to individually fix bicycles and protect bicycle frames.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
