I am a wedding photographer and needed a long focal length lens with an aperture for low light. I've spent weeks comparing this lens to Canon's 70-200mm f2.8 IS lens. I know they are different lenses with different capabilities but given the budget I could only add one to my arsenal. As a petite woman, weight is a HUGE factor in what I wear to a wedding. At the end of a 12 hour day my wrists get shot. I know the 70-200 f2.8 is touted as a must-have for photographers, but after renting it, it proved too heavy for me. However, I liked the footage. Take the 135mm f2, a lighter and cheaper alternative to the 70-200. Yes, it's not a zoom lens and it doesn't have that versatility, but I love prime lenses. so it wasn't a problem.
