So I always buy KYBs for all my cars, they work wonders. I bought these for a 1999 Mitsubishi Montero Sport 2wd and so far they are good. I felt the difference as soon as I changed it. The reason for the 4 starts is that they feel a little springy, but that only happens when I'm cruising through mud at low speeds. When I'm 40+ or on HWY they feel great and have no issues even when you're potholing. But I realized it's not KYB's fault. For some reason it doesn't matter what brand it is, whether it's KYB, Monrou or Gabriel or any other brand. All of the rear shocks bounce a bit. The reason I know this is because I also have another Montero, but it's a '95 and I use a Monroe and a Gabriel on it. If you don't buy ORIGINALS from the dealer that cost around $150 or more, you just have to get used to it. I need something cheap and reliable and KYB has always been there and worked wonders. If you're looking for something sturdier or a replacement for that real OEM feel, go for the original or rugged ones which cost around 150+ sometimes 200+.
