The way my home office desk and chair are situated, this footrest really helps my feet have somewhere to go. It reduces the strain on my lower back and sciatica and just feels more comfortable too. The only thing bad about it is that it takes up the special place where my cat loved to lay. He's adjusted, but I think he still despises the fact that something else took over his spot.
