Review on Manufacturer of Kenmore Softener Assembly Equipment by Jayme Newitt

Also check the hose connection!

I have a 1997 water softener. It came into the house and didn't work. It filled with water but the brine never drained and no softened water formed. After a little diagnostics and a complete disassembly, I decided Venturi was to blame. There was no vacuum in the brine stage. I found the venturi seal was missing. It became brittle and disintegrated at the venturi node. After replacing the venturi assembly, the vacuum was created but weak. It still couldn't drain. There was also a whistle/whistle. It turned out that the connection of the pipes was poorly sealed, and air entered the connection. After greasing the gaskets and connecting the pipes, my fabric softener drains for the first time in 20 years. At least 3 years, maybe longer. crossed fingers I hope my water is soft now!
