Those other reviews were absolutely correct. I installed this doorstop to prevent damage to the wall. Instead, it immediately left an ugly nick right in the new wood molding I'd just installed around the door. At first I thought I installed it wrong. But no, that's how the thing is supposed to work, pressing the metal edges of the stop against the door and shaping it so the door doesn't swing open too far. Wood stucco cannot stand up to metal edges, so you end up with an instant large dent in the stucco. Crazy! Don't buy if you don't have a metal door and molding (although it will likely damage the metal molding as well).
