Very easy to install and set up; The instructions are short and easy to use. My main problem was selecting the internal ringer type so I could turn off the external ringer. We have a mechanical solenoid inside and a firing pin from the previous system. By selecting "mechanical" in the setup dialog, I was only able to hear the electronic doorbell sound through the video intercom speaker. I have switched the ringer module wires to an internal ringer but to no avail. I decided to select "Digital" as the type just for a smile and it worked! I was able to disable the external ringer and only hear the internal ringer when the doorbell button is pressed. (I don't want to broadcast to my neighbors every time someone walks in!) I found the speaker volume a little low when using the "talk" feature - I feel like I have to speak really loud to be heard. Aside from that easy to fix internal call error, I'm pretty impressed. The image quality is excellent both during the day and in night vision mode. The Amcrest Smart Home App is very easy to use and makes the device easy to access. I was able to quickly add my wife as a user and I added the doorbell as a device on my Amcrest View Pro so I can quickly view the doorbell image along with the cameras on my NVR based security system. The notification system uses your phone's default ringtone. I'd like to assign a distinct tone, but it doesn't matter much. I originally bought the Ring2 doorbell but returned it after some functionality issues. This doorbell is just as good and in some ways even better at almost half the price!
