Review on Rain X 800001810 Headlight Restorer Oz by Jeff Clites

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Best Ways To Do It

I've tried a few of these "headlight restore" products at Revain. I will not blame Revain as they only provide one point of sale for the sellers BUT each of the products I have purchased have provided less than expected results. I have bought a 1 stage and a 2 stage and even a 3 stage product and the headlight lens was still "unacceptable". Toothpaste contains very fine polishing grains. So I went back to the old-fashioned toothpaste method, and lo and behold, impressive results. I used the iconic red and white Colgate tube with the whitening tube, dabbed some on a paper towel and started rubbing. From time to time I would pour water over it and keep rubbing. It took less than 5 minutes. This gave a transparency that none of the other "windbreak" products gave. You might say I already "prepped" the surface before using the toothpaste, but what I'm saying is: TWO fixtures, one used all the "commercial stuff" and the other traded it is pure toothpaste. Therefore, I am convinced that toothpaste is exactly what you need. All I can say is that I "spent" probably $40-50 on things that didn't work as well as good old teeth. Paste and elbow grease.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • It's ok
