Review on ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM: Superior Quality 4-Pin Quiet Fan - 92x14mm Brown by Matt Mix

Quiet, efficient and reliable

I use 2 Noctua fans on my multimedia PC. This is a Mini-ITX case with an ATX power supply. This leaves very little space inside for bulky coolers! Noctua's low-profile CPU cooler uses this exact 90mm fan model. I built this PC almost 7 years ago and I never changed the Notua fan on the CPU cooler! I clean my system about every 6 months and remove dust, but have never oiled the fan since I installed it. To my surprise, he did not disappoint! I've turned the fan by hand several times and it still spins freely. I also have a BeQuiet power supply with the original fan. I've noticed that when the room is cold, one of the fans (probably the PSU fan) makes a very slight vibrating noise that goes away after about a minute of operation. Almost 7 years later, I'm amazed that this little noise is only just emerging. So I installed a 140mm Noctua fan in the PSU (since the warranty is out anyway) and replaced the CPU cooler fan with this Noctua 90mm fan. fan (as for replacement). In my previous setup I didn't use the low noise connector you get in the Noctua box. However, this time I installed low-noise headers on both the CPU fan and PSU fan, and connected both fans directly to the motherboard for optimal fan performance and monitoring. With no low-noise ports, the system was very quiet and never interfered with my movies or TV shows. And now that the low-noise ports are in place, the system is so quiet you can't hear it at all! I also have a passively cooled nVidia GT1030 graphics card in the case, which generates extra heat, and I haven't noticed any issues or an increase in noise. Be crazy! >.< Efficient - My tiny mini-ITX case stays cool and functional even after hours of use. Reliable - After almost 7 years of daily use, it still works! Then why did I swap it? Just to calm down. Highly recommended to Noctua fans. They are definitely worth their money. In addition, you will receive a low-noise adapter, a Y-splitter and an extension cable in the case. There are also low-noise rubber mounts.

Pros
  • Includes anti-vibration mounts, fan screws, low noise adapter, extension cable and Y-cable to connect two PWM fans to one port
Cons
  • Low serviceability
