Inlet Fittings Leaking

I installed the first of the three ordered on an inline system that I've been using for years and the inlet fitting was leaking at the threads. Disassembled and found very little sealant on the threads. I put on some teflon tape and tried again. It leaked. I tried a Rector 5 thread sealant that I used industrially and it leaked. The factory installer must have overtightened and loosened the threads. I tried the second of the three ordered, it leaked too! I disassembled the intake fitting again and found very little thread sealant. I put some teflon tape on it and so far it's holding up. Either it's a manufacturing issue with the size of the threads, or the techniques used to assemble them are too overwhelming. This can be a problem if you're installing under a sink and it's out of place, out of mind. The next thing you know, your cabinets are water damaged. Need more attention to details or printing test before shipping.
