WORKS IN KENMORE REFRIGERATOR

This is the second order of this item for my 10 year old Kenmore Built-in Ice Maker Filter. It has proven itself over a long period of time before being replaced. Because Sears is out of town and they cost twice what I get at Revain for three. Just make sure you choose the right fitting and fitting design for your size inlet pipe.

Pros
  • Worth your money
Cons
  • Style 90

Previous misleading descriptions.

I used to buy them to try but I wasn't sure about the capacity. The listing showed two different numbers but when I got it it was actually the third rating. 300 gallons now listed. Two of these lasted about 6 weeks in my ice cream maker and the third was unusable as it split on the sides. Later I received the AQUACREST GXRTQR. You seem to be a lot better.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

Inlet Fittings Leaking

Installed the first of three ordered on an inline system I've been using for years and the inlet fitting was leaking on the threads. Disassembled and found very little sealant on the threads. I put on some teflon tape and tried again. It's leaked. I tried a Rector 5 thread sealant that I used in an industrial setting and it leaked. The factory installer must have overtightened and loosened the threads. I tried the second of the three ordered, it leaked too! I disassembled the intake fitting…

Buy three, so if one runs out, you'll have one more

Difficult to replace. If you remove the old one, it will splash you with disgusting water with all impurities filtered out. But that's not a problem with this product as such. But when I installed a new one, it leaks. I tried and tried but couldn't mount it cleanly. I ended up throwing that one away and using the next one, and the next one worked fine. It doesn't tell you to run the water, but you have to run a lot of water before the water tastes good. I'm guessing it could take half an hour…

Pros
  • Tools and household goods
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

I ordered 3 packs of these filters and thought I would get a great price. I installed the first one and it was leaking through the factory inlet fitting. The quick coupling is properly installed and tight. I took it off and tried a second one and it also leaked in the same spot then tried a third. All three escaped. These filters were incorrectly assembled at the factory. I had to reinstall the GE filter before I could get a replacement. I spent about half an hour completing a job that was…
