It is kind of like the eraser type of sculpey, where you soften up the clay, mold into whatever you want, bake it, let it cool, and then it functions as an eraser.While you can purchase eraser clay, you would be missing out on the most special part of this set, which is the little booklet with instructions and ideas.

My kids were so inspired by this that they have been doing fun things with other types of clay as well. What I love about the sets from this brand is that they truly inspire both kids and grown-ups to take what they have learned from the little kit here, and extend that to other types of crafts.This is a very cute set and would make a wonderful gift, or is just a good excuse for family fun together.
