Bought 2 of these to replace. They are solid wood and well made for the price. Most in this price range are made of cheap chipboard. They are very easy to assemble (just screw on the legs). The upper part is delivered assembled. The color of the spot corresponds to the description. CONS: The only complaint I have is that the drawer slides are wood so it's wood on wood and it's a little noisy and also a little difficult to open and close. Not too difficult, but noticeable for us. Easy to fix. Use Bee's Wax Lubricating Compound on the slides (available on Amazon). The drawers have a locking mechanism that prevents the drawer from being fully extended for wax application. To pull out the drawer, press the mechanism while pulling out the drawer. It's in the middle of the bottom of the top, a few inches inward.
