Review on AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X 64 Thread by Chris Martin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fantastically Heavy CPU

This is the CPU we've been looking for. If your workload requires threads and also has some low-thread count aspects, then this processor is for you. This guy is more than happy to encode a 4k source file with all 64 streams at 4.0GHz and then reverse and upclock to 4.5GHz for low thread count applications. If you're running a first-gen 1950x threadripper like me, this is the difference between day and night. All the little quirks of the first generation have been eliminated. For example, problems with lots of RAM are now a problem (128GB or 3400 rated RAM RAM) and Numa nodes are a thing of the past with a unified I/O die.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Long Delivery Time
