The bottom of these socks (more like Tabi) has very, very good support. Inside there's an insole that can be removed if you want to make it even firmer, but then there's virtually no cushioning under your feet. The cut of the socks corresponds to the picture. That means the fabric pattern is actually a mirror image between the socks, with the elephants on one side looking one way and the other looking the other way, and both are in the same spot. (I used to burn myself on cheap Chinese factory stuff so I was very happy to see it). Nothing perfect, the inseam around the sole of the socks is not closed or hemmed, just sewn. The insole covers the raw edge, but it's far from perfect.
