I have several other fans with the Vornado badge and all others have justified themselves. It's not like this. I ordered it in July, after 2 weeks the bearings on the swivel mechanism rustled. I had to return it, but I figured it wouldn't take long to calm down. I was wrong. I tried to lubricate with oil and graphite, but to no avail, the mechanism fried before the end of August. About a week after the oscillating bits died, the fan started making noise on high settings, but it still worked. It's almost Halloween, so it hasn't even been 4 months yet. The fan has not vibrated 3 weeks after purchase and does not turn off even on minimum settings. The current rumble sounds bizarre, like a helicopter hovering over an airport about half a mile away, and honestly that's no exaggeration. It has a slightly wandering pitch and vibrations in its flowing rattle that mimics almost perfectly a little Robinson approaching the ground. Not ideal for a cube, even less ideal for a bedside fan like I've tried.
