Terrible sound quality

Terrible sound quality. Immediately after connecting to the TV, I wanted to go back to the TV's built-in speakers. The upper range above 1kHz is most noticeable - it sounds like an overly compressed MP3, something you can get from a cheap camcorder. The middle and low frequency ranges are mixed up and not reproduced exactly. If you have tiny cheap speakers you might not notice them but otherwise stay away from this product. Not worth the terrible sound quality. I connected it to a Samsung 4K TV and two M-Audio BX5 studio monitors via HDMI ARC; I tried 3.5mm and RCA connectors. The volume control worked, but with difficulty. I had to hold down the volume up/down buttons on the TV remote for a few seconds for the volume to change noticeably (volume steps are very small).

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
