I have a Maine Coon, very long and very smart. I know the product is for outdoor use but I had to find a way to keep my kitty from waking me up at 4am. I agree with other buyers about the constant curl even when you try to keep it straight. My cat won't come in the room anymore when I'm sleeping, but I had to get tricky because the first attempts failed. I bought the first roll and laid it flat in the door. He laughed at me and jumped over it. I bought a cat repellent spray and mixed it with the mat. He jumped in such a way that he avoided the motion sensor AND the mat. I was determined to make this work, so I took the rug and attached it to the door frame (with removable hooks) to make a "gate" (like the photo above). . He still had enough leverage to jump over it, still bypassing the motion sensor. I finally made it work by buying a second roll and a second cat repellent spray. He poked around on the other side to get under the rug. Now my "gate" is high enough that he can't jump over it, and he can't scratch under it because there is cat repellent spray on both sides (this helps with folding the mat). I hope this review is helpful to anyone who has an intelligent cat who isn't put off by traditional methods.
