Quality Product at a Great Price

I was looking for a good quality PLA at a good price that wouldn't break the bank for prototyping. So I grabbed a roll of this as it was pretty cheap. IC3D far exceeded my expectations with their PLA. Delivered in a beautiful box sealed with a silica gel pouch. But what I loved about the packaging is that there is a wetness indicator strip on the roll. This is the first filament supplier I've bought it from and when I see it I think IC3D is raising the bar. Moisture can destroy some filaments, so having a moisture strip is great. I would like all filament suppliers to adopt this. It took very little time to calibrate the printing temperature. I set the hotend temp to 205 degrees and printed a test cube (see image). The cube came out almost pristine and that's pretty much all I did to calibrate. The test cube gave me confidence that the filament would print a little more. So I printed the other part that is shown. It turned out great (aside from the fact that I had to use more wrappers/perimeters, but this is a functional prototype, not a look). It was printed in the orientation shown with no support. Since I was printing with no supports, I expected to have some sag when retracting as there was a large gap for the web (80mm), but I was wrong again. It connected so well it almost looks like it was printed with support. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and will definitely be buying more in the future. Quality product at a great price.
