I have two other earlier models of these tie clips. The one I bought 7 years ago is better than this one. I'm not sure why the new one is doing this, but when you press the switch to start spinning, it starts out normal but slowly starts to decrease at the rate that keeps decreasing until it finally stops and the lights go on go out. If you then press the stop button and run again, it will start running at full speed and repeat the same dance. Since I rarely have to make a complete turn to find my tie for the day, I keep it to myself. And yes, the batteries are fresh. I also have an old one that works fine (I have a lot of ties). So I'm not satisfied, but I don't want to worry about a return. I may not have purchased this particular model for these reasons.
