Review on Mishimoto MMRAD MUS 64 Aluminum Radiator 1964 1966 by Pedro Hague

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Looking forward to a cooler engine

I will update this after experimenting with the engine but for now would like to at least provide my feedback on the fit, condition and characteristics of this cooler. Mine The first cooler delivered had a bent neck on the exhaust pipe as it had been dropped badly during transport. But with returns to Amazon, it's so easy that replacing it only took a few days. I installed it on my '65 Mustang along with a 2 speed derale fan with fairing. There weren't any extra screw holes or places to mount a fan, so I had to drill a few holes in the radiator mount. Also, there is more clearance in front of the heatsink than an OEM heatsink because the mounting brackets are flush with the front of the heatsink. Radiator so there is about 2.5cm in front of the top of the radiator, see picture. The extra space isn't a big deal, but it would be nice to move it forward a bit so I have more room between my electric fan and the water pump. The design of the radiator is beautiful and strong, and it is also very light! would give it 5 stars but I gave it four for the following reasons: Cons: - no transmission cooler - they don't make it with an automatic transmission oil cooler so I had to buy a separate small oil cooler which isn't as efficient at cooling as with one Water cooler but I don't race my car so I'm hoping it works. Otherwise I have to make another drawer in front of it. - No screw holes or ways to easily attach an electric fan. - The screws that came with the radiator were too small and didn't fit the car, but I used my original screws. There is no excess water outlet pipe that releases excess water after you fill it for the first time. (not a big deal but would be nice) - it would be nice to have more clearance for the e-fan by moving the cooler forward a bit and welding the mounting brackets midway on the side instead of being flush in front. Pros: - Looks great - Welds look solid and well done - Very light weight - Fits perfectly on the car, no modifications needed (unless an electric fan is installed of course) - I'm sure it comes with 2-row aluminum will cool well. (will update after I ride more) Otherwise I'm happy with it so far and look forward to riding it to see how much better it idles and stays cool on hot days. I will update this post when I have more experience.
