This was my first time to use a mousse tanner. It takes some getting used to. It dries faster than lotions that I've used before, so you have to spread it quickly. It does not add any color instantly so you will not be able to tell where is has already been applied. You will just have to work fast and try to be thorough. I did use my hand since the mit seems to soak up more than it was spreading and most of it was getting wasted.The color is gradual with each use and so far it just looks tan, not orange. I made sure to wash my hands well after spreading it, so I have not had any issues with dark or orange palms. While you are not able to see where it's applied, it's not a huge deal. You can mostly feel where it was applied and since it is gradual, you won't really notice a small missed are. You can just make sure to cover it better next time and it evens out.The color does somewhat wash off after the first shower, but after a few uses I was able to notice less and less color coming off. I had a nice tan that stayed after three uses. I am not sure how long this one bottle will last. I am familiar with lotions, but I am unsure how many uses I will get from this. Definitely not as many as using lotions.This does dry fast and does not transfer to my clothing or sheets so I can get on with my day faster. I love the streak free color I have developed and the scent is nice as well. It does not bother my sensitive skin at all. It does eventually have that self tanner smell after wearing it a few hours, but that's expected.
