This is a really cool device that I was able to test during a fire so I can confirm it works! Little did I know there were small, dormant, running air quality monitors like this one. It's so great to be able to throw this in your pocket and get a sense of how different people are at home and in public places. It's easy to charge and lasts quite a long time. One thing that confused me is the formaldehyde calibration mode and that I have to leave it outside for 6 hours to calibrate. I emailed them about it because I didn't know how often you have to leave it outside, calibrate for formaldehyde after I've already started using it, and so on. There's a specific method to recalibrate formaldehyde so they include a pin on the back, but I'm still a little confused as to how many times you have to expose it to reset the air sensors, but to be honest before I do could do that. he seemed to give the same testimony as after. I think some of the formaldehyde really helped because those levels looked different than my other cheap air monitor I have and were similar before calibration. It's just such a sleek device and you can have it in your bedroom to make sure the air quality is good there or if the air purifiers are working or whatnot. I'd say don't worry about peaks, maybe do an average going in and out of there. To switch between different modes, press the button above. One thing that surprised me is that there is no mode that automatically switches between settings like an alarm clock. You have to physically press the button. Also, it's not the kind of sensor you can connect to Wi-Fi or anything like that, but I didn't have to. I didn't open the window but I have air conditioning for hot days. It's not perfect, so sometimes the PM2.5 went up indoors, sometimes even up to 100 near the window, scary! Whole house PM2.5 was elevated throughout the day, even with air purifiers, and then slowly dropped to the level I like to see in good air purifiers, 5-10. VOCs seemed to correlate with things like bad smells from windows or obscure kitty litter. Cool! The price has gone up since then and I think it's a bit pricey for such a simple model. I have a feeling they could maybe turn on loop mode and basic wifi for the 125. So the price is at an odd point with features/value. But you're also paying for accuracy with this one. I have a very cheap air quality monitor that I got but wasn't sure how accurate it was. I basically took it because it has CO and CO2 in it, which this one doesn't have. The numbers seemed to roughly match which was convincing and as I said the formaldehyde calibrated mode seemed to change it from a cheaper one that wasn't as calibrated and I'll trust that. This is really just a must for me. when I have chemical flare-ups. I'm trying to figure things out or understand why certain places make me feel bad, and having this type of information in such a portable way will help in that quest. Everyone should have one of these!
