I bought these to replace very old ones. How old you ask? So old that my knife cut them through! So old that they became brittle. They slid across my counter and made slicing interesting. These 180° cutting mats are unlike the old stuff! First, they are fat! But not too thick so you can't bend them to act like a funnel for whatever you're grinding to get it where you want it. They also have a textured side so they don't slide on the countertop. And of course, the different colors help distinguish what you're cutting from other things. For example, if you eat meat, you can separate raw vegetables from vegetables and vice versa. Oh, and they're cheaper than others I've looked at, including a three-letter brand known for designing older items that are easy to use. Highly recommended!
