We've used baking soda and other charcoal-based products in our trash can, but this is different. Definitely works better than baking soda. Odorless - only traps odors. Sure, I can smell it when I put my nose in a trash can, but nowhere else. What I liked most was how strong the adhesive was and how easy it was to peel and stick the patch. I didn't need a cartridge or a bulky plastic case, which is a plus! Good price! Definitely a good find. Highly recommended pro mom tip! 1 patch on the lid, 1 patch on the bottom of the bucket = good odor control
