I love this trash can! The battery indicator always starts flashing after a few weeks. but it works great for months so we just ignore the lights and only replace the batteries when they really don't work anymore. The height is perfect, the sensor is great, the black assistant is really nice and clean. High enough to store a roll of bin liners underneath the bin liner currently in use. Connection. I tried wiping the loop thinking maybe it was just getting food sucked into it. The plastic pieces holding the metal hinge just fell off. I also noticed that not only is the hinge itself broken, but the little motor that pushes and pulls the lid kicks up sharply every time I try to use the lid electronically! It just pops out and the lid doesn't close properly at all. I was hoping to find a replacement cover. Can't find it but judging by other reviews they are there but expensive :-(Overall I still like the bin but sad that after only 8 months it's not fully functional (or the lid isn't replaceable ) Really sucks because I feel compelled to buy a new trash can that will last longer.
