Great little retro console. The device itself is very beautiful. While most of these products try to mimic the look and feel of a real console just like the official products, this one comes with a charming little TV that doubles as a real gaming screen, eliminating the need to connect it to a real TV . If you decide to hook up to a full-size TV, you'll need the AV connections (white and yellow plugs for those of you who aren't up to date). Connecting takes seconds. Connects seamlessly and looks great on a large flat screen. The list of games is in the thousands, so I can't even try to list them all. Definitely a big plus. Classics like Sonic games, Super Mario (1-3 and World) and more you are looking for will be there. There are so many that I will never play them all. Unfortunately, this also highlights its biggest downside, matchmaking. Games are subcategories for their respective consoles, but for those with thousands of their own games (e.g. NES/Famiami) scrolling can take forever, so please be patient. Even those unfamiliar with the console's original Japanese titles might be confused by the abbreviated subcategories and their icons. I just wish there was some sort of search function. The controllers are decent for a product of this caliber, but nothing special. They do the job and seem to hold their charge (as does the console itself). I didn't bother to check the alarm, but setting the date and time was a simple task and the instructions in the general functionality booklet that came with it were easy to follow.
