Not universal, poor quality, wrong geometry

I tried this on Ford GT40 heads with Comp Cams 7/16 Magnum Rocker studs on my 89 5.8L engine. I'm not particularly happy with this product, here's why: 1) There are no instructions included so you'll have to run your fingers around - I found a video of a similar product on YouTube showing me how to set it up. 2) The seat stays couldn't wrap properly around the valve springs so I had to grind a bit to get them to fit - so much for versatility. 3) The oblong bolt holes are not designed for 7/16 rocker studs - I had to drill them out and then use the rocker studs to hold the brackets in place because I didn't have the bolts on hand. 4) Once the brackets were in place (on one side only) I reassembled the lever and pushed, only to find that the pre-drilled holes and pivot notch did not match the correct geometry for compressing the valve spring. In theory, the lever and press should be on the outside of the head, with the loose side pushing down on the valve cover flange and the inside (bolted) side pulling up. The mere possibility of operating the lever in the wrong direction only caused the cheap mounting plates to flex and bend easily. My advice: save money for a better tool.
