We're really trying to get rid of paper towels, but it's hard. They are simple and hygienic. These tea towels are better than sponges and less uncomfortable for me than regular cotton tea towels. That's what I felt (yes, felt) about them: they take forever to dry. I left the rag on the counter, window sill, draped the faucet over the faucet, and then finally turned on the floor fan and secured it in place. This damn thing won't dry. They have an odd odor right out of the box which isn't exactly pleasant BUT a quick cleaning in the dishwasher will fix the odor issue right away. I never know when to wash them again. I use an antibacterial cleaner on everything, and when I wipe kitchen countertops and the sink, do I have to put the rag back in the dishwasher? My brain says yes, which means I dry a whole pack of kitchen towels every day and then my dishwasher is full of kitchen towels. For some reason it was really stressful for me. They're eco-friendly, which made me feel better using five of them in 10 minutes. I just couldn't bring myself to use one of these when working with meat. , really messy mess like dirt left by our dogs after a walk or spills that I knew could get dirty. In the end I'll probably give them to my mother. She loves her clothes and rags. She will use them for everything and will probably ask for more when they wear out.
