I really liked this lantern at first. It was difficult to install, not because of the lantern itself but because of its mounting position. It was two stories up and extended about a meter beyond the roof, which was quite dangerous to install, and hung two stories above the concrete pavement by the stairs. I was glad to receive it and work! Imagine my disappointment when he started misbehaving less than two weeks later. Sometimes it doesn't light up fully, you have to go to the switch and turn it on and off several times before it lights up completely at full brightness. Hopefully it doesn't fail completely. We have long, dark winters here in Alaska and we really need that light. Changing after freezing is not interesting.
