This cylinder is NOT a direct replacement for the stock cylinder. The design is COMPLETELY different and neither the toggle switches nor the springs carry over from the old to the new. New toggle switches, springs and instructions are NOT included. A typical big city locksmith does NOT have the parts/knowledge to recode this cylinder. You MUST take this to a locksmith who specializes in automatic locking cylinders. In my case, I called four Buick dealerships to recommend a locksmith and only one of the four locksmiths was familiar with and able to work with this design. I've wasted a lot of time since the standard says it's a drop-in replacement. Attention buyers
