I purchased 24 of these grolsch style bottles for bottling kombucha. They work perfectly.Pros:- Extra thick glass. I haven't had any bottles rupture from pressure and I've had a couple batches with a lot of carbonation in the 2nd ferment.- The stainless nozzle on the Northern Brewer 2-Gallon Kombucha Brewer fits perfectly inside the bottle mouth.- The body of the bottle is tapered downward just slightly so it doesn't slip through my hand as easily as a straight-wall bottle.- As of Jul 2019, all of my bottles came with full coverage silicone cap gaskets. I haven't had a single one leak.- The gasket is removable for cleaning.- The latching mechanism is robust stainless steel. Definitely thicker and stiffer wire than I've seen on similar bottles at Walmart or other bargain places.- The latching mechanism is replaceable.Cons:- Cleaning can be a pain. I recommend getting a brush that has a bulbous brush end on it but will fit through the neck of the bottle so that you can scrub the bottom of the bottle. For thorough cleaning, I resort to the bartender trick of using rice or clean sand and vinegar, and shaking vigorously.
