Make sure that the shelf fits well in your hand!
So I used this at a wedding ceremony and the nuts and bolts were looser than mine despite holding the plate on my arm. Whenever there was bass I had to hold the shelf because it made a loud rattle against the metal. I later repaired it when I realized that was the problem and tightened it up, but in my opinion this shelf should be welded on to avoid this potential problem.
