The fan arrived well packaged, I opened the box and was very surprised that there aren't a thousand pieces like other fans I've bought. The instructions were easy to follow. The guide must have been patched recently as I didn't have the issues that other reviewers had. The only thing I didn't see was where it said to hide the box of brains up to the fan. It goes into the fan mount. Once installed, I flipped the switch on the wall and then pressed the fan button on the included remote control. The fan briefly moved in both directions before spinning. I'm assuming this is the brain box booting up. I basically wanted to control the fan with a wall switch rather than a remote control. At first I didn't think it was possible because when I flipped the switch nothing happened. I later found that I was just impatient and it took a few seconds to load. The fan will return to your previous settings when you flip the light switch. The fan runs incredibly smooth and quiet and really moves the air. The breeze feature is good, you hold down two buttons on the remote and it blows, flows and simulates a real breeze at different speeds. WAC isn't the cheapest but they make great electrical gadgets. I will never go back to an AC fan.
