I bought this (along with the spool holder) for a month's mask making marathon and have since used it on everything from clothing to a large quilting project. I'm new to sewing and I make a lot of mistakes; so much thread is ripped out and thrown in the trash. Given the tremendous value of this monstrous scroll, I feel less guilty about it. The ONLY time it broke for me was when I was chewing through about eight layers of heavy canvas, canvas, cotton, padding and zipper for a tote bag project, which also caused my machine to fail. So I have no complaints.
