Purchased for RV use. We bought a waste water dumper and it needs 12 volts to run. The manufacturer suggested using a car battery to attach to a dump truck, but I didn't want to carry the battery on a trip across the US. Too much work constantly removing the battery, connecting it and then putting it away. This converter solved the problem. I just plug it into an extension cord and run the extension cord through the RV's power cord hole to the pole. The device has an ON/OFF switch so you can control it with a reset valve. It worked great. I tried the charger/converter recommended by my RV dealer but it didn't have 12 volts DC so the dump truck cut out after about 10 seconds. This converter has changed the life of my RV. Used it for 3 weeks on a trip east and NEVER had a problem with it. Other than connecting a 12v auxiliary line and outlet to my compartment, this is the best way to go. All vacationers should note: if you have an electric waste disposal dumper, then this inverter is for you. Save that battery for something else. This thing weighs about 4 ounces and is about the size of your GPS. It also works with 12 volt devices indoors or outdoors if you need a 12 volt source.
