💡 Schumacher 15 Amp Power Converter: Effortlessly Converts AC Travel Products to DC Power Review

Really muscular! I use it for a powerful 12V compressor, not just any small one, but a VIAIR 85P. This allows it to start up smoothly under load. Really delivers 15 amps. i am sold I wouldn't use any other converter for light applications.

After 14 months of sporadic use to power a portable cooler, the device died. I called Schumacher who told me the unit had a 12 month warranty and mine had been out of warranty for 2 months. I tried replacing the fuse which blew immediately. There was a short somewhere. Rather than take another chance with Schumacher, I ordered another model transformer that works fine. It remains to be seen how long this new power supply will last.

I bought this item to power a CD head unit (car style) in my pull out RV, worked great! My standard inverter (AC to DC) put out a very "dirty" power supply that was fed to the speakers. I was very happy when I installed this unit and found that the problem was gone, only clear/crisp sound was left, oh-oh-oh! I love the little fan on it to keep it cool. I'll keep an eye on this summer's performance and let you know if I run into any problems. So far it's a 5 star item.

This is one of the few power supplies with more than 10 amps that I could find. I use this to run the 8amp 12vdc water pump in the cab. For these purposes it works well and without any problems. I've been using it daily for a few weeks. Update: I've been using this all day, every day for over a year and it's still working. The fan was a bit noisy so I panicked and bought another just in case. I don't need it yet. The only 120v to 12v Revain unit in the 15A category. Reviews have been mixed but I don't have much to choose from. I needed at least a 15 amp converter to power a Viair 70p air compressor. I tried to calibrate my Garmin device but it didn't work. I was about to call Garmin service but figured I should at least try the device in the car. Purchased for RV use. We bought a waste water dumper and it needs 12 volts to run. The manufacturer suggested using a car battery to attach to a dump truck, but I didn't want to carry the battery on a trip across the US. Too much work constantly removing the battery, connecting it and then putting it away. This converter solved the problem.
