I got these for PP recovery from my 3rd baby. Delivery didn't go as planned and I ended up with a c section and a lot of lower body edema from the trauma. When I say these came in clutch, I mean it! The band sat just around my belly button; plenty of room to avoid my incision but fit well enough to stay put. The rest of the underwear fabric is soft and breathable and allows plenty of room for any kind of pads you need (i.e. icy pads, hospital grade large pads, or just your everyday regular pads). I sized up to a L; for reference, I am 5'5", 175lbs at the end of my pregnancy, and usually a M. I am so glad I sized up due to the post partum edema. These made great compression like underwear also to help my tummy go back down. Highly recommend as a more environmentally friendly option as well, since you can wash and reuse!
