Review on 🔒 Enhanced Security: Black Pop and Lock for Toyota Tacoma 2005-2015 by Daniel Revlon

I wrote an initial review on this thing on the 14th September. I am updating this review now Later year and 11 months when the part failed Good: Installed on a 2012 Tacoma Toyota should have made the Tacoma with a locking tailgate, another backward design move we'll never explain Correction is one of those things I was VERY skeptical at first - expected poor quality, poor fit and misdirection. In fact, it fits perfectly and the instructions are 100% clear and correct. However, the quality of the plastic is really poor. (Note that your local Toyota dealer will install the locking mechanism for you. You use THIS Part as there is NO TOYOTA tailgate lock and I was offered $400 for it.) The A exchange is actually very easy. 2012 has Torx #30 screws holding the tailgate. Home page. I also used a 10mm socket for the four bolts in the lock itself. Two of these hold the subject while the other two are for the camera. My biggest concern was the camera and that was the easiest part of the whole thing. No cuts, disconnection of camera cables or other BS. Bad: I'm a Revain fan, but descriptions of Revain are very often wrong. This is the case. Part number 5500 does NOT have the ability to magically pair with your truck key. Contains a pair of small keys. What you really need to know: At 23 months, this thing fell apart. I have never abused it and it has had minimal use. Fault: The cylindrical plastic fasteners securing the steel mounting bolts simply snapped and fell apart leaving nothing to hold the thing in place. Plastic is cheap and for $65 at Revain I'd say it's not worth it. I reinstalled the serial part without the lock.
