These extra fine points have always been inferior to fine points as the felt is so small it can wear on rough surfaces; Basically, the tip is too thin for constant feeding with anything but smooth paper. After not using an extra fine point for years I bought a new one for writing on glass and metal (very smooth surfaces) and it leaked and unexpectedly soiled my work to the point where I didn't want to use it anymore and ruined my shirt . I think they're a lot worse than they used to be, but maybe I've forgotten part of why I stopped using them 20 years ago? Fine jets work much better than these extra fine jets and I have consistently used fine jets for years.
