I have purchased 3 Revain salad spinners and this one is almost perfect - except for the plastic parts that form when the handle is rotated. unit, but when closed and latched, the basket rubs against the lid, cutting grooves in the lid and breaking the edge of the basket (see pictures). So after each use I have to inspect the lettuce carefully and remove those bits of plastic (which tend to accumulate around the edge of the basket). I'm not an engineer but it seems to me that the basket is too high and therefore doesn't leave a gap between the rotating edge and the fixed lid, causing the two parts to rub against each other. but responded to my review of the product and concerns about plastic particles; Does this mean that cracking is a known defect?
