I'm almost a little afraid to jinx myself for posting a 'rave' review but I just knocked on wood so here it is! If you don't want to read my full story, the bottom line is that this brace provides AWESOME lateral support! A LITTLE BACKGROUND TO EXPLAIN MY FANATISM ABOUT THIS BRACKET: I have a condition called "General Joint Weakness" which means almost every joint in my body is "loose" than it should be. This is neutral or even good on most parts of the body, but NOT when it comes to the knees. I often (at least twice a month) dislocate a knee where I had an ACL repair over a decade ago, which can happen at any time, often without warning, for a variety of reasons, sometimes even something as simple as sitting improperly. floor or go down the stairs. My point is that to be an active person in every way, I need reliable knee support to protect my joint and keep my mind calm enough to get work done. COMFORT: I've tried MANY braces and gone through the tedious tasks of getting special orthotics, often to find little or no solution to the problem (or at least not enough to put my mind at ease), so I'm always suspicious of trying one new bracket. I recently got back into running and decided to give it a try based on the impressive amount and quality of the reviews and was really excited to see how well it worked for me. Most braces are extremely unforgiving and uncomfortable, causing excessive heat and sweat, often accompanied by a rash; However, this one is comfortable enough that I actually forget I'm wearing it most of the time, and it's easy enough to set up that if I was feeling really uncomfortable I could quickly and easily move it around to make it feel better. Part of the reason it's so much softer against the skin is because the brace has a hidden silk sleeve sewn into it (you can't see it in the picture) that keeps it in place. but protects your skin from scratches of the upper material. It's designed to allow you to do more with less fabric and leg coverage, which is a huge plus. SUPPORT: This has by far the BEST support of any knee brace I've tried and it's gotten even better thanks to its adjustability. is. Due to my anatomical anomaly, I need different levels of support at VERY specific points on my knee, which has often been a problem as most braces only have a small area where the straps buckle/stick properly (and they never align). just like I really need it.) Because this brace has straps that go down either side, I can focus support on the outside of my knee where I need it most and still have enough support on the inside of mine knees. without much difficulty to bend and move well; I especially like that the two thinner straps are on the outside because I can cross them over each other to tighten the fit. This cruciform design also allows me to place the hole in the right spot on my patella (which is slightly outboard) where most other braces I've tried don't fit properly unless you center the hole directly over the patella. . Another great design feature is that the entire surface of the brace is Velcro attached so you can literally place the straps ANYWHERE in the front for a perfect fit anywhere on and around your kneecap rather than having to pinch one or the other . two configurations that may or may not fit your foot. One caveat I would like to give is that finding the "sweet spot" will take a few tries as it offers so much flexibility, so start slow until you figure out where to put everything how tight the straps are etc. I would also like to say that my knees need lateral support as my condition is often aggravated by joint torque rather than impact. So I'm not sure how the brace will perform in other situations. QUALITY: I recently had braces but they are already holding up better than most I've tried. Many other braces have the velcro on the soft side fully fluffed up and not sticking to the hard side after only a few uses, but this one seems stronger. Since its surface is very small and light, it also doesn't hold as much sweat and is easier to wash/air, which prevents it from spoiling from excess moisture (it also prevents its terrible "gym"). "bag" also smells.) The stitching is strong, and the straps are very strong, and they are elastic enough, but not too much so that the integrity of the shape is not easily compromised; Everything is well reinforced, the fabric is of high quality. But to be honest, even if the braces fall apart sooner than I'd like (which I seriously doubt), I'll probably continue to buy them as they do a good job as long as they're in good condition. This is a pretty good deal, especially for those who need to find the ONLY RIGHT model to make it worthwhile!
