Review on 🏑 Enhance Imaginative Play with the Versatile Melissa & Doug Wooden Stable Dollhouse by Bob Larson

Serious defects and cheap horses

For the price and this is a Melissa and Doug product I have to say I am very disappointed. The barn itself is rough wood, not as usual sanded and smooth as I would expect by M&D standards. It's like the unfinished furniture or the little wooden crafts you buy in the paint yourself section. For a product that is described as "fold and go" you can't go more than a few feet and baby I can't help but get that far. It's not portable at all, except for the handles on top. There are no fasteners or even a hook to hold the hinged sides together. The pages just swing open and the content spills out of the open spaces. The last and worst are the horses. They are terribly cheap, high-quality plastic horses from the dollar store. Only 1 out of 4 is even worth it because they are so bulky and misshapen. As you can imagine, it's not much fun when a small child tries to play with stooped cheap horses that won't stand up. We usually reject the ones included because my daughter is frustrated and frustrated using other non-M&D animals. I love that it's wood and the concept is amazing. The accessories are great - my daughter loves the stairs, the hay bales and especially the fence. I just really wish more attention was paid to the making of this product including some decent horses for the price.
