The elastic band to keep it around the neck is like a hair tie. If it needs an adjustment like my child did, you need to find a way to tighten the band around the child's neck and hide it under the shirt collar. I didn't care. They feel good and the colors are just like the picture. In general, my child likes them. I just wish they were adjustable
